In fact, Hungary is famous for his thermal water resources. The country has one of the richest geothermal and medicinal water resources. The tradition of medical baths goes back thousand years ago when the Romans discovered the water treasure of Hungary. Most of the mineral waters contain dissolved minerals proving medicinal and curative power for both bathing and drinking cure giving different medical purposes such as gynecological and dermatological disorders.
Healing in bath is part of the Hungarian culture. Years come by and the water is still there and locals bath regularly. Among the 1,300 thermal springs registered, around 300 are currently used for bathing purposes. You can find water spa bath in almost all regions of Hungary but a major part of the wells are in the Great Hungarian Plain. Among the famous thermal cities, Budapest has 130 medical water springs only by itself. Other places such as the Transdanubian small towns or around the Lake Balaton, are very good destinations to give your body and your mind a rest in a peaceful environment.
